In this class you will learn tips for preparing and cooking seafood confidently and what beers to serve with your food.

On arrival at the session, you will be provided with a cold beer and an apron before being welcomed by our Chefs who will outline expected competencies from the session, discuss the format of the day and introduce the menu which includes:

BBQ Spiced Crusted Swordfish with Rocket, Grain Salad and Honey Dijon Dressing

BBQ Main
BBQ Steamed Mussels with Jamaican Curry, Fennel and Beer
BBQ Crispy-Skinned Barramundi with Sweet & Sour Papaya Salad

In our Beer & BBQ Seafood lesson, we look at how to achieve really moist and crisp seafood, including key buying tips to ensure you are purchasing and receiving exactly what you set out to; the freshest possible product. The menu features some delicious dishes which are matched to four different craft beers with emphasis on how the palate is enhanced by these flavour combinations.

We sit down together as group to share in our first creation with a detailed beer tutorial matched to our first course.

We then embark on our next course covering BBQ myths and secrets, and we work together via an initial demonstration to achieve our next course together. All participants are then given the tongs and lifters to re-create their meals.

Once the recipes are cooked, each dish will be served with a matching beer and tutorial against it with information about how to pair beer and food, flavours of each beer and how they complement the recipe, and how to know which beer to pick against different food types.

You’ll leave armed with some delicious recipes and confidence in matching Beer and BBQ Seafood recipes for a truly gourmet dining experience.
